This is an invitation to all the women of WCV to an art night. The south housegroup is planning an evening of fun and creativity for Thursday, February 4th at 7:30 pm. We still need to meet on zoom but we can still have a great time together.
We will begin by listening to the creation story and responding to our creator with colour and word. This is for fun, no skill or experience with painting is needed!
We will make up a package of materials for you and drop it off at your door, so please send us your registration by the week before (Jan. 28). Register by email to Valerie Hutt at vhutt@shaw.ca. We’re looking forward to seeing you. We hope you will come!

Craft Time with Lani – Sheep
Hi there crafters,
This little sheep craft doesn’t take a lot of materials and they’re probably ones you’ve got in your house already, except maybe googly eyes, but they’re optional. If you REALLY want googly eyes send me an email at lani(at sign)wcvchurch(dot)ca and I’ll send you some.

Below are the materials and instructions and below that is a video OR you can download and print the instructions by clicking here: PRINT VERSION
Here’s what you’ll need:
Toilet paper tube or equivalent
Cotton balls
Stiff paper
Q-Tips
Glue
Scissors
Pencil
Black Marker
Googly Eyes (optional)
Instructions:
- Cut the toilet tube so it’s not too long. I cut mine in half and I could make two sheep!
- Pull a few cotton balls in half.
- Glue a section of the toilet tube and press the cotton balls onto the glue.
- Keep working around the tube until all the space is covered with cotton.
- Draw a face/head.
- Draw a circle just a little bigger than the toilet tube.
- Make one end of the circle longer to make the sheep’s mouth and noise.
- Add some ears to the other end of the circle.
- Cut out your face once you’re happy with the shape.
- I used the other side of the face to make the eyes and nose so that my pencil lines didn’t show.
- Add some details, whatever you like;
- The inner ears
- Maybe some swirls for wool
- Add eyes, either draw them on or glue on googly eyes
- Attach the head to the body with glue
- Add the legs:
- Cut the Q-tips in half
- Cover one end in glue
- Wedge the legs in between the cotton balls
All Done!
Remember that Jesus is the Good Shepherd and the Good Shepherd loves his sheep!!
Core Connection Course
We are going to be hosting four evenings of storytelling and teaching designed to connect you with the heart, vision and practices of WCV. Sometimes we all need a reminder of why we’re here, what God wants to do among us and through us, and what kind of community we are becoming. These evenings will do just that.
They are for newcomers to the community, old-timers who’ve been around forever, and anyone in between.
Connect to:
- Our Vision,
- WCV’s Core Practices & Vineyard Values,
- Where we’ve come from and where we’re going,
- The kind of community God is calling us to become,
- Each other!
Four Thursday Evenings at 7pm.
Feb 11, 18, 25 & Mar 4.
Via Zoom (register to get the link).
Register here. Registered participants will receive a package in the mail. Be sure to register early to allow time for snail mail!
“You didn’t choose me, remember; I chose you, and put you in the world to bear fruit, fruit that won’t spoil. As fruit bearers, whatever you ask the Father in relation to me, he gives you.
