Nepali Women’s Co-op Table

Nepali Women’s Co-op started 10 years ago after a two week trip to Nepal. The markets were filled with beautiful wares colorful and practical. Also, the needs of the women were very apparent…how could we help? The idea was born… Purchase items in Nepali markets, sell them in Winnipeg, send all the profits to benefit Nepali women through education and micro business. Three years later a partnership with Third + Bird began.

Nepali Women’s Co-op provides start up costs for micro business, education costs for Primary, High School and Post Secondary School, and Tailoring Schools. Since the earthquake on May 15/15, earthquake relief has also become a focus, which includes providing shelter, food and other practical support.

Come support the Nepali Women’s Co-op this Friday and Saturday (April 29 + 30) at the Third + Bird Spring Market at the Transcona Country Club.

Christmas Eve Service

Every Christmas Eve, as other families across the world gather around a Christmas tree, we, as a church body, gather together to celebrate Christ’s birth. We remember and celebrate The One who Came by singing Christmas carols and lighting the last advent candle. This service is a candle lit service, where every family is welcome, and everyone will get their own individual candle.

We encourage you to come and celebrate with us as one body. But if you can’t make it, take a step back from the busyness of Christmas and remember the One, Jesus Christ, who came down as an infant child to dwell with us.

The service will be on Thursday, December 24th, 2015, 6:00 – 7 p.m.

WCV CD Worship Singalong

We’re in the process of recording a worship album comprised of 12 homegrown songs from WCV. Though this is a studio album, we really want to capture the live feel of what worship in our gatherings actually sounds like.

You’re invited to a community singalong where we’ll have a great time hanging out and worshipping to some songs from the CD. Your voice and the sound of us singing together will be recorded for the upcoming album. And don’t worry – we won’t make you sing solo!

Anyone whose home is WCV is welcome – and we’d love to have families and kids participate.

Awake: Community Art Show

Hey Vineyard & Flatlander Artists,

This is the official first email about the annual Vineyard and Flatlanders community art show party, which is coming up Friday, March 6th.

Because the show is in spring this year, we came up with the name Awake. What’s interesting about this name is that I have begun to see this theme of awaken in our community in 2015. So if you need idea’s and a theme to get you thinking about what you can create for the show, maybe using “awake” as a spring (no pun intended) board might help you get inspired. But you don’t have to follow this theme, you can do whatever you feel drawn (no pun intended) too. And remember, kids art is most definitely welcome – we want to celebrate kids art and encourage their creative minds.

Title, Date & Time

The show is called Awake, and the opening show and party is Friday, March 6th, from 6:30pm – 9:30pm.

Let Me Know

Email me back if you want to be a part of this show. As usual have about three art pieces ready, with the understanding that there may only be room for you to put one or two pieces in the show so we can fit everyone in.

All Artistic Expressions Welcome

Let’s make this a party. This means we don’t just need art on the walls, we also want performers of all kinds. Musician’s and songwriters please feel fee to email me so we have live music. Dancers, videographers, poets, spoken word, crafters, etc, all feel welcome to join and include your art in this party which also wants to celebrate the performing arts.

Kids Art, Yes

As I already stated, but wanted to reiterate, kids art is more than welcome in this show. Isn’t it great to have kids art alongside everyone else’s art! I think the kids especially get a kick out of seeing their art included with “the big kids” – it makes them feel included and valued, and grown up, ha.

Food Makers

Maybe you don’t really make art but you like making food. Well making food is an art and we want to include you as well. Be a part of this show by sharing your enthusiasm for cooking by blessing us with a delectable treat for the opening party.

So What Do You Have To Do Again???

Email me back if you want to be in the show, this includes all artistic expression and food! And email me back even if you don’t want to be in the show so I don’t keep bothering you 🙂

Thanks for all of your efforts in advance – I’m excited to see what we can all create together.

Project Timothy – an opportunity for youth

Hey Parents and Youth,

Here’s a reminder as you make your summer plans, to carve out 7 days for your teen to go to Project Timothy, July 31-Aug 7.

This week has the potential to be a life-changing week for those willing to pursue God and dig deeper into becoming a leader.  Don’t miss it!  My kids were so impacted last year by this week of being surrounded by youth and young adults who were passionate to worship Jesus and expand God’s kingdom in their circles.  (all of this in an environment with Vineyard DNA)
What to do:
  1. Let Jodi know if you can come!  So far I have interest from a handful of youth.  We are prepared for 9 youth and more if possible.
  2. Apply in spring to Project Timothy in Landenburg, Pennsylvania (Vineyard at the Barn).  More info will be sent when it is available.
  3. Continue to fundraise whenever possible.  Begin now to write letters of support to family and friends.  Let me know if you need help with this and I will help via email.  Also, participate in WCV lunch fundraisers (next one is March 15th).
Tuition costs: $250/youth.  This includes lodging and food.  Some spending money can be given in addition if desired.
Approx. flight costs: $500.
Total approx costs: $750.00
Here’s a 3 minute video that captured some participant’s thoughts on why we should join them again this year.  Have a listen with your youth!
Expecting great things from a great God,
Jodi

Fatherheart Sessions

Father wants you to know Him loving you right now!

Many people have said that it is difficult to take a week off to do the Fatherheart A Schools that we’ve hosted in the past.  These  “taster sessions” are for those who want to find out what it’s all about, but who can’t commit to a whole week.

Trevor and Linda Galpin are international Team Leaders with Fatherheart Ministries and will be teaching these sessions.  Their passion is to teach a prophetic revelation of the Father’s love that brings us to live as sons and daughters.  They travel extensively as the International coordinators of Fatherheart World, which is the relational network of friends and supporters of Fatherheart Ministries around the world.  The Galpins speak at churches, conferences and lead “A Schools” in the US, Europe and Africa.  One of Trevor’s passions is church history and he teaches this at the Inheriting the Nations School in New Zealand.  He loves to write about their traveling and journey with the Father.  If you’d like to read more about them, you can visit their blog.

Dates & Times:

Sunday, March 15th, 2:30pm-4:00pm

Monday, March 16th, 7:00pm-8:30pm

Cost:

$25 per person for both sessions.

Payment is appreciated with registration but can also be brought to the first session.  Cheques should be made out to “Winnipeg Centre Vineyard” with “Fatherheart sessions” in the memo line.

This will help pay for the costs involved in bringing them here.

Location:

Winnipeg Centre Vineyard – 782 Main St.

Childcare:

Available upon request.

Questions?:

Contact Jason & Theresa Eheler for more info.

Sign Up:

Please fill out the form below to sign up.  Also, payment is appreciated beforehand, but can be brought to the first session.

Leadership Development Opportunity

What makes a leader lead?

If people are just born leaders, most of us are out of luck.  But we believe leadership is something people can grow into.  Learning the five main practices that make up leadership is the goal of this ten week course, done in a small group setting.  There will be both homework and coaching – as well as opportunities to step out in leadership at the Vineyard, in a way that fits your commitment and capacity.  It begins January 29 for 10 weeks.
Please contact the office below to sign up or find out more info.
